Halloween Week at PS 185

Hi everyone. Please keep sending in those membership envelopes. Remember all money collected goes to supporting many different activities in the school. Halloween Festivities: On Wednesday, October 31, our school will be having its Annual Halloween Dance-a-Thon. Sheets went home from the PTA asking for sponsorship. All children are to come to school dressed in costumes (all grades). Please no high heels, open toe sandals, masks, wands, swords or other accessories. All children will participate in the Dance-a-Thon on the 87th Street schoolyard. Please note that parents are not permitted in the schoolyard during the Dance-a-Thon. October's PTA Meeting will be held this Thursday, October 18 at 6:30 PM. Children are always welcome to attend. Week of October 8 Events and Important Things to Know

A huge thank you to our wonderful Photography Committee chaired by Sophia Madimenos and Lia Athineos. Pictures should hopefully be in by Thanksgiving. And don't fret if you missed Picture Day since retake/make-up day is scheduled for November 28. Thank you to our amazing volunteers who helped out at Chip Friday that was held this week. Chip Fridays are usually held on the first Friday of each month during the 3 lunch periods. All items are $1.00 each. Some of the funds raised help support our 5th grade graduation expenses. UPCOMING WEEK OF OCTOBER 1st

Picture Day is October 3, 2018. All 5th Graders will be photographed for the yearbook, regardless of whether or not a package is purchased. Forms came home to you this week and should be completed and returned to your child’s teacher ON PICTURE DAY. Classes will be scheduled to come to the auditorium for their pictures throughout the day. Friday 10/5 we’ll be starting up our ‘CHIP FRIDAYS.’ They will be held on the first Friday of each month during the 3 lunch periods. All items are $1.00 each.
