Week of October 22nd Events at PS 185
Hi everyone. Thank you for coming out the PTA Meeting on October 18th. All minutes from previous meetings are posted here. [Please note that the October minutes should be posted within the next week.]
Also, please keep sending in those membership envelopes. Remember all money collected goes to supporting many different activities in the school. Please check out our PTA Guide here for more information.
Wednesday, October 24th is National Unity Day. On this day PS 185 asks everyone to wear orange or a PS 185 school shirt to “Unite Against Bullying.”
Fifth Grade Parents:
On Thursday, October 25th the 5th grade students will go to the park on Shore Road to have their graduation group picture done (weather permitting). Their Senior T-shirts will be distributed to the classes that morning.
The 5th grade SPELLING BEE scheduled for Friday 10/26 will begin at 8:30 AM in our auditorium. Parents of the participating students are welcome to attend.
***Fifth grade parents: Your student should have brought home this year’s list of MS Open House dates as well as the 2019 Middle School book. This year’s Middle School application must be completed online. You will be getting a Creation Code mailed directly to your home from the DOE soon. You’ll use that code to do the application online. Mary Maguire will be setting up a date to do a workshop at school but there will be two (2) information sessions regarding the new process during the MS Fair. The deadline to submit your application will be December 3 this year. Mark Twain’s request for testing must be done online as well. Feel free to contact Mary Maguire with any questions you may have.
