On Wednesday, October 31, our school will be having its Annual Halloween Dance-a-Thon. Sheets went home from the PTA asking for sponsorship. All children are to come to school dressed in costumes (all grades). Please no high heels, open toe sandals, masks, wands, swords or other accessories.
All children will participate in the Dance-a-Thon on the 87th Street schoolyard. Please note that parents are not permitted in the schoolyard during the Dance-a-Thon. Immediately following the Dance-a-Thon, students will march around the 86th Street schoolyard track.

***Fifth grade parents: Your student should have brought home this year’s list of MS Open House dates as well as the 2019 Middle School book. This year’s Middle School application must be completed online. You will be getting a Creation Code mailed directly to your home from the DOE soon. You’ll use that code to do the application online. Mary Maguire will be setting up a date to do a workshop at school but there will be two (2) information sessions regarding the new process during the MS Fair. The deadline to submit your application will be December 3 this year. Mark Twain’s request for testing must be done online as well. Feel free to contact Mary Maguire with any questions you may have.
The Book Fair, which will be held on November 15 and November 16 is looking for volunteers for assistance. Please click here for more information and to volunteer.
Save the date for Spring Gals which will take place on Friday, March 8th from 7PM to 11:30PM at the Dyker Beach Golf Course. Our fabulous Gala Committee is looking for monetary and prize donations. Letters were sent home asking each child to donate $10 to be used to purchase gift items for raffle baskets. This is our big fundraiser so help is greatly appreciated.
