If your child was born in 2021 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend kindergarten in fall 2026. The kindergarten application for Fall 2026 will be open between December 9, 2025 - January 23, 2026.  Please visit Myschools.nyc to submit your application.

Offer letters will be released by the DOE in late March.  If you receive an offer to attend PS 185, you will receive an email confirming your acceptance and further instructions. In the meantime, you can download the required paperwork, and gather the supporting documentation to be ready when the registration opens. 

Please complete the following forms (the form links are located below):

• Student Registration Form

• Emergency Contact Form

• Home Language Identification Survey

• Parent-Guardian-Student Ethnic and Race Survey

• Housing Questionnaire

• Kindergarten New Admit Questionnaire

• Health Examination Form

With the registration forms,  scan and submit the following required documents:

• Proof of Age (scan/take picture of birth certificate)

• Proof of Residency (scan/take picture of TWO proofs of residency – must be dated within the past 60 days)

• Immunization Record 

• Photo Id - Parent/Guardian

• T5 Placement Letter (if applicable)

*PROOF OF RESIDENCY:  visit Registration Checklist (nyc.gov) for a list of acceptable proofs of residency.

**IMMUNIZATION RECORDS:   You must submit proof of immunization for your child to attend school.  All students must meet the requirements for:  DTaP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis), poliovirus, MMR (measles-mumps-rubella), varicella and hepatitis B vaccines.  Visit:  Immunizations (nyc.gov) for more information.
