P.S. 185 offers several after-school options to support the different needs of our families. Whether you need a little extra time at dismissal, full after-school care, or an enrichment opportunity for your child, you can explore the available options below.

Programs

🕒 Late Pickup

Pickup Time: No later than 3:15 PM
Fee: $5.00

Late pickup is available for families who need a little extra time after dismissal. All children must be picked up by 3:15 PM.

Please note: Payments are nonrefundable. No refunds or credits will be provided for days your child is absent.

🎒 NIA After-School Program

A complete after-school experience NIA provides students with a safe, supportive, and engaging environment after school. The program includes homework help, arts and crafts, theater, dance, sports, chess, recess, special events, field trips, and opportunities to make new friends. Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is currently open. Families can also choose a four-payment installment plan. Students must be fully registered and paid by August 1, 2026, to begin on the first day of the program.

P.S. 185 offers a variety of enrichment and academic programs that allow students to explore their interests, build new skills, and receive additional support.

Programs vary each year based on availability. Information about the 2026–2027 offerings will be announced in September or October.

Past Programs:

  • Music Programs: Violin, ukulele, and trumpet with Midori & Friends

  • Performing Arts: Talent Show and band

  • Exploration & Discovery: Intrepid educational programs

  • Academic Support: AIS and ELL programs
