Learning Beyond
the Classroom
At P.S. 185, learning extends beyond daily classroom lessons. Students have opportunities to explore their interests, solve real-world problems, develop leadership skills, and participate in engaging academic and enrichment experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity.
Students are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions, solve problems, and explore their interests. Our accelerated learning opportunities extend classroom instruction through academic challenges, collaborative projects, hands-on experiences, and meaningful discussions.

Civics for All
Civics for All helps students understand their communities, government, history, and the importance of active citizenship. Students develop critical-thinking skills and learn how their voices and actions can make a positive difference.
Project Soapbox
Project Soapbox empowers students to speak about issues that matter to them and their communities. Through public speaking, students build confidence, organize their ideas, and discover the power of using their voices.
Project Based Learning
Our Project-Based Learning program gives students the opportunity to explore new interests through engaging, hands-on experiences. From gardening and kindness initiatives to origami, poetry, design, jewelry making, learning Spanish, and more, students discover new passions while building creativity, collaboration, confidence, and real-world skills in a fun and supportive environment.
