Technology Expectations

🌐 Digital Citizenship & AI Guidance

P.S. 185 is committed to helping students become safe, responsible, and respectful digital citizens. Technology is used thoughtfully to support instruction, provide access to educational resources, and complete required learning activities and assessments. We encourage families to explore the NYC Public Schools resources on Digital Citizenship and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) so students can learn to use technology safely, responsibly, and appropriately both at school and at home.

Technology is used intentionally to enhance learning, provide required assessments, and build essential digital skills. Students spend the majority of their school day engaged in teacher-led instruction, collaborative learning, hands-on activities, reading, writing, math, science, and other classroom experiences.

💡 Did You Know?

Technology at P.S. 185 is used to support learning—not replace it. Students use digital tools to access instructional programs, complete required assessments, and build important technology skills while spending most of their school day engaged in teacher-led instruction and hands-on learning.
